Widely used for general pressure containment where high-temperature creep resistance is not a primary requirement.

 

Weldability:

Generally considered to have good weldability due to its relatively low carbon equivalent (Ceq). Common welding processes can be used.

Preheating may be recommended for thicker sections or high restraint joints to avoid hydrogen cracking.

Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) is often specified to relieve residual stresses, particularly for thicker components (>30-35mm), highly restrained joints, or critical service applications.
