The core value of this type of manhole cover is to provide a controllable sealing solution for the "manway" of the storage tank. Its specific functions include:
Sealing and Leak Prevention: Through the sealing elements (such as rubber gaskets, metal gaskets) between the cover and the manway flange, it prevents the medium (liquid, gas, powder, etc.) inside the storage tank from leaking, and at the same time stops external impurities (air, moisture, dust) from entering the tank, ensuring the purity of the medium and storage safety.
Personnel/Equipment Access Control: It is closed and sealed during normal storage, and opened when maintenance is required. It allows personnel to enter the tank for maintenance (such as welding, rust removal) or equipment to be inserted for operations (such as liquid level gauge installation, internal inspection), serving as a "safe access point" for storage tank operation and maintenance.
Pressure and Safety Adaptation: According to the type of storage tank (atmospheric pressure tank/pressure tank), the manhole cover must meet the corresponding pressure rating (e.g., ordinary bolted covers for atmospheric pressure tanks, covers with pressure-bearing sealing structures for pressure tanks). Some manhole covers also need to be equipped with safety valve and breather valve interfaces to adapt to pressure changes inside the tank and avoid overpressure risks.
