Overview of ST37-2G standard
ST37-2G is a German standard low carbon structural steel complying with DIN 17100. This steel type is widely used in construction, machinery, shipbuilding and other industries at home and abroad, and has good workability and processability.

2. Chemical composition and mechanical properties of ST37-2G steel
The chemical composition of ST37-2G steel mainly includes carbon (C) silicon (Si) manganese (Mn) phosphorus (P) sulfur (S) and other elements. Its mechanical properties are as follows: tensile strength > 400MPa, yield strength ≥ 240MPa, and elongation > 24%.
3. Application fields of ST37-2G steel
ST37-2G steel is widely used in building structures, bridges, pressure vessels, heavy machinery, ships and other industries due to its excellent properties. Especially in high-rise buildings and long-span bridges, ST37-2G steel has become the steel of choice due to its high strength and good welding performance.

4. Precautions for processing and welding of ST37-2G steel
1. During processing, ST37-2G steel has good processing performance, but attention needs to be paid to deformation and cracks during cutting, welding and heat treatment.
2. During the welding process, appropriate welding processes and welding materials should be selected to ensure that the performance of the welded joint is not lower than that of the base metal. At the same time, attention should be paid to controlling the welding current, welding speed and cooling time to prevent welding defects.
5. Comparison between relevant Chinese standards and foreign standards
my country has formulated corresponding standards for ST37-2G steel, such as GB/T 1591-2018 "Low Alloy High-Strength Structural Steel" and so on. Compared with foreign standards, our country's standards are basically consistent in terms of chemical composition, mechanical properties, and electrical properties, but there are differences in some details.
