Recently, the P275NH European Standard pressure vessel steel plates customized by GNEE STEEL for a German chemical enterprise were successfully delivered via the Port of Hamburg. These steel plates will be used in the manufacturing of the customer's new ethylene glycol reactor, marking the third batch of European Standard steel plates delivered by the company to Europe this year.
As a world-renowned chemical enterprise, the German customer has strict requirements for material compliance. During the preliminary communication, it clearly specified that the steel plates must comply with the EN 10028-3 standard and obtain certification from Germanischer Lloyd (GL) Classification Society. GNEE's sales and technical teams collaborated to advance the project: on one hand, they provided detailed compliance documents for the P275NH steel plates (with a yield strength of ≥275MPa, a tensile strength of 410-530MPa, delivered in normalized condition, impact temperature of -20℃, and impact energy of ≥34J); on the other hand, they cooperated with the GL certification body to complete factory audits and product sampling tests.
"What we care most about are the low-temperature toughness and welding compatibility of the steel plates," the customer's technical director emphasized in a video conference. In response, GNEE provided 3 sets of welded test plates with different thicknesses (14mm, 18mm, and 22mm) to assist the customer in completing process qualification. Eventually, the tensile strength of the welded joints met the standards and no crack defects were found. During the production of the first batch of 180 tons of P275NH steel plates (specifications: 10-25mm × 2400-3000mm × 8000-12000mm), the customer monitored the production progress in real time through the ERP system and spoke highly of GNEE's "transparent production management".
At present, this batch of steel plates has been put into reactor manufacturing. By virtue of its accurate mastery of European Standard requirements, GNEE has further consolidated its market share in the European chemical material market.

Is S275 equivalent to A36?
ASTM A36 plates have a min. yield strength of 250 MPa and S275JR carbon steel plate has a yield of 275 MPa. And the tensible strength of S275JR carbon steel plate is also little higher than that of ASTM A36 plates. So it is not right to say "S275JR equivalent to ASTM A36".
