ASTM A514/A514M-22 PDF
What is the difference between A514 and AR400?
A514 has a tensile strength range of 110 to 130 KSI and a Brinell hardness number (BHN) range of 235 to 293, depending on the grade you use. AR400 has tensile strength between 170 and 190 KSI and a BHN minimum of 400, hence the name.
What steel is similar to A514?
ASTM A514 & T1 Steel Plate - A514 Grade B, E, F, H, Q, S A514/T-1 Equivalent Grades
For projects requiring EN standard materials, EN S700 or EN690 may be possible alternatives to A514, depending on project requirements. Other Q&T steel plate grades have similar properties to A514 plate and may be suitable for use high wear and stress applications.
What is the MPa of ASTM A514?
ASTM A514 Grade H is a quenched and tempered alloy steel plate for structural applications requiring high yield strength combined with good formability and toughness. A514 Grade H has a minimum yield strength of 100 ksi [690 MPa] and may be ordered with supplemental Charpy V-notch impact test requirements.

What is the ultimate strength of ASTM A514?
760 - 895 MPa 110,000 - 130,000 psi
