Yemeni Clients Visit GNEE For P690Q Steel Plate Procurement Talks

Recently, a delegation from a Yemeni enterprise engaged in the energy and infrastructure sector paid a special visit to GNEE to conduct procurement inspections and in-depth cooperation negotiations on P690Q high-strength structural steel plates. This visit focused on the application of P690Q steel plates in scenarios such as energy storage facilities, high-voltage transmission towers and mining machinery.

The delegation first went deep into the P690Q steel plate production workshop of GNEE. Under the detailed explanation of the technical director, they observed the entire production process from high-purity scrap steel selection, electric arc furnace smelting, controlled rolling and controlled cooling to quenching and tempering treatment. As a high-strength structural steel complying with the European standard EN10025-6, P690Q steel plates have a minimum yield strength of 690MPa and a tensile strength ranging from 710MPa to 940MPa. With an impact energy of ≥40J at a low temperature of -20℃, they also feature excellent fatigue resistance and weldability, fully adapting to the extreme engineering conditions of high temperature and heavy sandstorms in Yemen.

At the quality inspection center, the clients focused on verifying the mechanical property test reports, corrosion resistance test data and welding process validation records of P690Q steel plates, and highly recognized GNEE's multi-layer quality inspection methods including online ultrasonic flaw detection and full-element spectral analysis.

In response to the special environment of Yemen's desert areas characterized by high average daily temperatures, large temperature differences between day and night and sand erosion, our technical team demonstrated customized improvement solutions on site: enhancing corrosion resistance by optimizing the ratio of chromium-nickel alloys, and reducing the impact of sand abrasion through special surface treatment technology. The relevant technical parameters are highly consistent with the standards proposed by the clients for solar power station brackets and transmission tower load-bearing components, winning unanimous praise from the delegation. The technical team also specifically explained that the improved P690Q steel plates can withstand high-temperature environments of 60℃, and their service life in southern provinces such as Aden and Shabwah can be extended to more than 15 years.

After the visit, the two parties held a special cooperation forum. At the meeting, the Director of International Trade of GNEE gave a detailed introduction to the company's production capacity scale in the field of high-strength structural steel-with an annual output of 80,000 tons of P690Q steel plates, which can meet Yemen's phased reconstruction needs. Meanwhile, he focused on expounding the supply chain guarantee system for the Middle East market, including customized steel plate specifications on demand, short-cycle delivery within 45 days, and dispatching technical personnel to provide on-site welding guidance and other supporting services.

In response to the clients' questions regarding certification processing, maritime logistics and on-site technical support, our team provided professional answers one by one, and submitted a tailor-made "product + service" integrated solution on site. The two parties finally reached a clear consensus on the specifications and models of P690Q steel plates (thickness: 8–50mm, width: 1500–2200mm), quality acceptance standards, delivery schedule for the first batch of goods and subsequent annual cooperation intentions. The clients signed a procurement letter of intent on site.

In the future, GNEE will strictly abide by the cooperation agreement, accelerate the production and certification of P690Q steel plates, and coordinate logistics partners in the Middle East to ensure that the first batch of goods arrives at Aden Port on schedule. In view of Yemen's special security environment, the two parties also agreed to establish an exclusive communication mechanism to real-time connect the supply progress with on-site needs. In addition, taking this cooperation as a starting point, the two parties plan to explore more cooperation space in weather-resistant steel plates, mining-specific steel products and other fields, helping Yemen's mining industry recovery and infrastructure upgrading.

The successful conclusion of this inspection and exchange marks the continuous improvement of the recognition of GNEE P690Q steel plates in the post-war reconstruction market of the Middle East.
