Russian Clients Visit GNEE For Procurement Talks On SA387 Grade 11 Class 1 Steel Plates

Recently, a delegation from a major Russian energy engineering group paid a special visit to GNEE to conduct procurement inspections and in-depth cooperation negotiations on SA387 Grade 11 Class 1 heat-resistant alloy steel plates.

The delegation first went deep into GNEE's SA387 Grade 11 Class 1 steel plate production workshop. Under the detailed explanation of the technical director, they observed the entire production process, ranging from the proportioning of high-purity chromium-molybdenum alloy raw materials, electric arc furnace smelting, secondary refining, controlled rolling and controlled cooling to normalizing and tempering heat treatment. As a heat-resistant alloy steel plate complying with the American standard ASTM A387, SA387 Grade 11 Class 1 features a core alloy composition of 1.25Cr-0.5Mo. It can maintain stable mechanical properties even in a high-temperature environment of 600℃, with a yield strength of over 205MPa and a tensile strength ranging from 415MPa to 585MPa, fully meeting the stringent working conditions of high-temperature pressure-bearing equipment in Russia's refining, chemical and thermal power sectors.

At the quality inspection center, the clients focused on verifying the product's high-temperature mechanical property test reports, intergranular corrosion test data and full records of ultrasonic flaw detection. They highly recognized GNEE's three-tier quality inspection system consisting of "online spectral composition analysis + high-temperature creep rupture strength test + full-coverage non-destructive testing". When informed that the product had been successfully applied in a large-scale refining and chemical integration project as well as the booster station equipment of the Central Asia Natural Gas Pipeline, the delegation stated, "The high-temperature stability and creep resistance of SA387 Grade 11 Class 1 steel plates are exactly the core material requirements for manufacturing our boiler drums and reactor shells."

In response to the extreme service environment in Russia's Siberian region, where the temperature alternates between severe cold (minimum temperature of -50℃) and the high temperature of refining and chemical equipment, our technical team demonstrated customized improvement solutions on site: optimizing the heat treatment process to refine the grain size and enhance the low-temperature toughness of the steel plates, with the impact energy at -20℃ stably reaching ≥47J; meanwhile, adopting a special anti-rust packaging technology to solve the corrosion problem of steel plates during transportation in cold and humid conditions. The relevant technical parameters are highly consistent with the dual standards proposed by the clients, namely "transportation in severe cold environments + service under high-temperature working conditions", winning unanimous praise from the delegation.

 

Targeted Matching: Finalizing Key Cooperation Implementation Matters

 

After the visit, the two parties held a special cooperation forum. At the meeting, the Director of International Trade of GNEE gave a detailed introduction to the company's production capacity scale in the field of heat-resistant alloy steel plates - the annual output of SA387 Grade 11 Class 1 steel plates reaches 50,000 tons, which can meet the phased procurement needs of Russian energy projects. Meanwhile, he focused on elaborating the full-chain service system for the Russian-speaking market, including adjusting steel plate specifications on demand (thickness: 6–100mm, width: 1500–3000mm), providing Russian-language quality documents, and shortening the delivery cycle through combined transportation via the Far East Railway and the Port of Vladivostok.

In response to the clients' questions regarding certification processing, low-temperature transportation packaging and on-site welding technical guidance, our team provided professional answers one by one, and submitted a tailor-made integrated solution covering "product production + certification processing + logistics transportation + technical support" on site. The two parties finally reached a clear consensus on the steel plate specifications and models, quality acceptance standards, delivery schedule for the first batch of goods and the framework for subsequent annual cooperation.
