Mauritanian Clients Visit GNEE For S690Q Steel Plate Procurement Talks

On the important occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritania and the upgrading of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership, a delegation of core clients from Mauritania's mineral and energy sectors recently paid a special visit to GNEE to conduct procurement inspections and in-depth cooperation negotiations on S690Q high-strength structural steel plates.

The delegation first went deep into the S690Q steel plate production workshop of GNEE, observing the entire production process from high-purity raw material smelting, precision rolling to quenching and tempering treatment. As a high-strength structural steel complying with the European standard EN10025-6, S690Q steel plates have a minimum yield strength of 690MPa and a tensile strength ranging from 710MPa to 940MPa. They also feature excellent low-temperature toughness and weldability, with an impact energy of ≥30J at -40℃, fully adapting to the extreme working conditions of large temperature differences between day and night and heavy sandstorms in Mauritanian deserts.

At the quality inspection center, the clients focused on verifying the mechanical property test reports, corrosion resistance test data and ultrasonic flaw detection records of S690Q steel plates, and highly recognized GNEE's multi-layer quality inspection system. When informed that the product has been successfully applied in high-end scenarios such as intelligent mining hydraulic supports and key nodes of cross-sea bridges, and can significantly reduce component weight and extend service life, the head of the delegation said, "Mauritania is promoting a large number of infrastructure and mining projects. At the meeting, the Director of International Trade of GNEE gave a detailed introduction to the company's production capacity scale and global supply chain layout in the field of high-strength steel plates, focusing on the customized service system for the African market, including adjusting steel plate specifications on demand, short-cycle mass production, and full-process logistics tracking and other supporting guarantees.

The Mauritanian client representatives clarified their procurement needs in combination with their national development plan: "Currently, Mauritania is advancing key projects such as the construction of 750 kilometers of roads, the new construction and renovation of 800 kilometers of roads, and the Nouakchott-Zouerate 225KV transmission line. Meanwhile, as the backbone of the national economy, the mining industry is expected to produce 15 million tons of iron ore in 2025, so there is an urgent need for high-quality S690Q steel plates for mining equipment upgrading and infrastructure load-bearing structures." The clients particularly emphasized that the products must meet the long-term service stability in desert environments and the fatigue resistance under dynamic stress scenarios of mining machinery.
