1. Introduction to A588GrK steel plate

A588GrK is a brand of the Nuclear Power Institute of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Wugang. It is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel suitable for welding, riveting or bolting. It is mainly used for welding bridges and buildings. It is very important to reduce weight or increase durability. In most environments, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of this steel is much better than that of carbon structural steel with or without added copper.

3. A588GrK steel plate delivery status: hot rolled, normalized, tempered, normalized + tempered, quenched and tempered. Different delivery statuses can be selected according to different needs.

Note: For every 0.01% decrease in the specified carbon (C), the specified manganese (Mn) is allowed to increase by 0.06%, and the manganese (Mn) content is 1.50%. For A588GrK steel plates with a thickness less than 13mm, the niobium content is not required.

6. Application scope of A588GrK steel plate

A588GrK steel plates are commonly used in welded, riveted and bolted structures, but are mainly used in welded bridges and buildings where weight reduction or longevity is required. This kind of steel has significantly better atmospheric corrosion resistance than copper-containing or copper-free carbon structural steel under most environmental conditions. This steel is suitable for many applications in its bare (uncoated) state when fully exposed to the atmosphere.
