Performance Characteristics of A387Gr5 alloy steel plate

 

High-Temperature Performance

  • Long-term operating temperature ≤ 600°C, with yield strength > 245 MPa at 500°C.
  • In medium-temperature (350-480°C) hydrogen service environments, it exhibits resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, hydrogen corrosion, and sulfide corrosion, along with low temper brittleness.

 

Mechanical Properties

  • Tensile strength: 515-690 MPa
  • Yield strength: ≥ 310 MPa
  • Elongation: ≥ 18%
  • Reduction of area: ≥ 40%It combines high strength with good ductility.

 

Processing and Welding

  • Easy to weld with high weld quality; can be formed through processes such as rolling and forging.
  • Heat treatment is typically normalizing + tempering or annealing to ensure stable performance.

 

Corrosion Resistance

  • It has excellent resistance to corrosive media such as hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), making it suitable for harsh corrosive environments.
