A992 Wide Flange H Beam
ASTM A992 steel h beam contains small amounts of vanadium or niobium, copper, nickel, chromium and molybdenum, and these elements greatly enhance the overall properties of A992. On the one hand, it has a low weight-to-strength ratio similar to A572-50; on the other hand, the alloying elements optimise the internal structure of the steel and improve its properties.
With a yield strength of 65 ksi, ASTM A992 I-beams are the material of choice for bridge and building framing.
