SA353 For Pressure Vessel Plates


ASME SA353 is a nickel alloy steel plate material used to fabricate high-temperature pressure vessels. In order to achieve the properties of ASME SA353, SA353 steel must be tempered twice and then tempered again.SA353 contains 9% nickel.The 9% nickel content gives SA353 excellent high temperature resistance.


ASME A353 9% nickel steel plate can operate at temperatures below -196 degrees Celsius, which is required for the encapsulation and transportation of cryogenic gases such as argon, nitrogen and oxygen.


The steel sheet has a tensile strength of 690-825 MPa and a yield strength of 515 MPa. These properties make ASME A353 9% nickel steel plate an ideal choice for high-temperature pressure vessel steel.

SA353 Pressure Vessel Steel Plate Surface Quality

 

1, the surface of the steel plate is not allowed to exist cracks, bubbles, scars, folding and inclusions and other defects harmful to the use. There shall be no delamination on the side of the steel plate. If the above surface defects, cleaning is allowed, cleaning depth from the actual size of the steel plate, shall not exceed half of the tolerance of the thickness of the steel plate, should ensure that the minimum thickness of the steel plate. Defects should be cleaned up smooth without edges.

 

2, other defects are allowed to exist, the depth from the actual size of the steel plate, shall not exceed the thickness of the allowable tolerance of half, and should ensure that the defects in the thickness of the steel plate is not less than the minimum thickness of the steel plate allowed.
