S355J2WP steel contains copper, Chromium, nickel alloy elements, which has corrosion resistance feature. The surface of the metal S355J2WP can form a layer of dark brown oxidation, which inhibits deeper penetration since corriosion by atmosphere. What material is S355J2W?
S355J2W is a weathering steel grade that belongs to the European standard EN 10025-5. S355j2w steel sheet offers enhanced atmospheric corrosion resistance. The steel undergoes a hot rolling process, followed by cooling and then it is cut to the desired length.
S355J0WP VS S355J2WP
S355JOWP and S355J2WP are both EN 10025-5 weathering steels with similar high strength (355 MPa yield) and atmospheric corrosion resistance, but differ primarily in low-temperature toughness. S355JOWP is tested at 0°C (J0), while S355J2WP offers superior toughness with testing at -20°C (J2), making S355J2WP better for severecold environments.
