ASTM A871 Gr.60 corten steel sheet are mainly used in railways, transport vehicles, bridges, high towers and other steel materials that are exposed to air for a long time. It is suitable for containers, trains, oil derricks, harbour construction, oil platforms, chemical and petroleum equipment, such as hydrogen sulphide and other corrosive media.
ASTM A871 Gr.65 is a low alloy structural steel with high resistance to atmospheric corrosion. It has a minimum yield strength of 65 ksi and a minimum tensile strength of 80 ksi, and offers significantly higher resistance to atmospheric attack in most environments than carbon steel with or without copper. If properly designed and exposed to air, this steel can be used in many occasions (unpainted) applications.
