NM Series Resistant Steel
NM series of tempered wear-resistant steel has thin specification, good plate shape, stable performance and quality, and high production efficiency. This series of products are suitable for medium and heavy trucks, dump trucks, rubbish collection trucks, concrete mixer trucks, industrial fans, hoppers, crusher and so on. The physical performance, quality and delivery technical conditions of wear-resistant steel have reached the physical level of similar imported products abroad and are in the leading position in China.
The use of abrasion resistant steel instead of ordinary structural steel, can greatly reduce the thickness of steel plate, reduce the weight of the product, reduce energy consumption, energy saving and environmental protection.
Compared with the original model, the actual weight of the U-type mining dump truck processed by NM400 is reduced from 12 tonnes to 6 tonnes.
- NM300 abrasion steel instead of 520JJ can significantly improve the concrete mixer truck cylinder and rotor wear resistance, wear resistance can reach 520JJ more than twice, so that the service life can be significantly improved.
- NM450 wear plate steel hardness can reach more than 3 times the hardness of the Q345 structural steel, wear resistance can be increased by 2-3 times, so the service life of the steel plate is significantly extended.
- NM450 steel hardness can reach Q345 structural steel hardness more than 3 times, wear resistance can be increased by 2-3 times, so the service life of the steel plate is significantly extended.
The grades in this standard are divided into six grades: NM300, NM360, NM400, NM450, NM500, NM550 and NM600, which can be adapted to the needs of users.

Product properties of NM series resistant steel plate
(1) Reduce its own weight: steel plate is based on the addition of a number of alloying elements required to design a series of low-alloy, high-strength wear-resistant steel plate, through the processing of steel plates, so that it can correspond to a variety of specifications of the high hardness (wear resistance). The result is a significant reduction in the weight of structural components.
(2) Excellent welding performance: Special consideration is given to the welding performance of the steel plate, under the premise of ensuring the wear resistance and mechanical properties of the steel plate, the carbon equivalent of the steel plate is reduced as much as possible, and a unique composition design is carried out. And through the corresponding process test, select the welding material with excellent matching, in both steel plate and welding material can be used with peace of mind.
(3) good toughness: through strict control of the chemical composition, minimise the content of harmful elements in the steel, choose reasonable heat treatment conditions, so that the steel plate has good toughness. As a result, it is possible to construct highly reliable structures against brittle damage of wear-resistant components.
(4) good processing performance: due to the uniformity of the steel plate performance control, excellent performance with good toughness, so the steel plate bending and processing and punching, cutting and other machining performance is excellent.

Automated Edge Milling Machine
The Automated Edge Milling Machine is a leading product in heavy-duty milling equipment. It is primarily used for weld groove preparation (beveling) on large-format plates made of stainless steel, carbon steel, and special steel grades. It can process plates with a maximum thickness of up to 90mm, a length of 16 meters, and a width of 4 meters.

Case : Steel Plates Supply for 100,000m³ Full Containment Ammonia Storage Tank Project
GNEE STEEL is currently participating in the procurement phase of a 100,000m³ full containment ammonia storage tank project, supplying high-quality steel plates for critical tank components. Due to the corrosive nature of ammonia and the risk of Ammonia Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC), the project requires strict metallurgical control of materials according to EN 10028-3 standards.
One of the most important technical requirements of this project is the strict limitation of the actual Yield Strength (Re) for all NL2 grade materials. To prevent SCC risks in ammonia storage environments, the actual yield strength must not exceed 390 MPa, regardless of the nominal values specified in the standard or plate thickness ranges. This requirement places higher demands on steelmaking process control, heat treatment stability, and material testing.

Project Materials and Technical Requirements
The project mainly uses P355NL2 and P275NL2 normalized pressure vessel steel plates, which are widely applied in low-temperature storage tanks due to their excellent toughness and weldability.
Key technical specifications include:
- Material grades: P355NL2 and P275NL2 (Normalized)
- Yield strength: Standard minimum / Maximum limited to 390 MPa
- Hardness: ≤ 225 HBW in base material
- Impact testing: Charpy-V notch test at -50°C, minimum 27J
- Certification: EN 10204 3.1 certificate, with optional 3.2 certification
These strict requirements ensure that the steel plates maintain stable mechanical properties and high resistance to ammonia-induced stress corrosion during long-term operation.
