EN10028-6 P500QL2 is a high-strength, weldable fine-grain steel plate specifically designed for pressure vessel applications requiring exceptional performance at extremely low temperatures down to -60°C .

Standard Welding Protocol:

Preheat: 200-250°C (for t>25mm)

Consumables: EN ISO 16834-A G 62 5 M21 4Ni1.5Mo

Heat Input: 1.5-2.5 kJ/mm

Interpass Temp: 200-250°C

PWHT: 610-630°C × 1hr/25mm (for t>40mm)

Testing: Impact at -40°C

Special Notes:
No buttering layer required for standard applications
Hydrogen control <5ml/100g sufficient
Hardness surveys only for thickness >75mm
