SA285 Grade A is a low-tensile strength carbon steel plate standard used for low to intermediate pressure applications, such as storage tanks and low-temperature vessels, offering good weldability for easy fabrication. It has a specified tensile strength of 45-65 ksi and is one of the lower strength grades in the SA285 family, with Grade C being the highest.
