Typical Uses / Applications
With ultra-high strength and excellent comprehensive performance, S890Q (1.8940) is widely used in key structural components bearing extreme loads.
Typical fields include:

1. Construction Machinery and Mining Equipment
Roof beams/base of coal mine hydraulic supports, electric shovel buckets, frames of mining dump trucks, booms of concrete pumps, excavator lifting arms, crane booms, etc. It can reduce structural weight by more than 30% while improving load capacity by more than 20%.
2. Bridges and Infrastructure
Main girders of long-span bridges, bridge decks, viaduct support structures, sluice gates, etc., which can meet the requirements of high strength, fatigue resistance and long-term service.
3. Energy and Marine Engineering
Offshore wind turbine tower connection parts, offshore drilling platform support structures, ultra-high pressure hydraulic struts (working pressure ≥ 70MPa), etc., which can withstand extreme corrosion and complex stress environments.
4. Special Vehicles and High-End Equipment
Ballistic protection plates of armored vehicles, chassis of heavy special transport vehicles, precision machine tool base parts, etc., which balance lightweight and high impact resistance.
5. High-Rise Buildings
Super high-rise structural frames, heavy-duty support components, etc., which significantly improve the seismic performance and load-bearing capacity of buildings.

Core Product Advantages

Excellent Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Under the same load-bearing requirements, it is 30-50% lighter than ordinary high-strength steel (such as S690), which greatly reduces equipment energy consumption and transportation/installation costs.
Superior Comprehensive Mechanical Properties: Through grain refinement and quenching-tempering treatment, it has both ultra-high strength and good toughness, and can maintain stable impact performance at -20℃ low temperature to avoid brittle fracture.
Good Machinability and Weldability: Precise control of carbon equivalent, no special welding materials and processes are required; it can be adapted to various processing methods such as cutting, bending and drilling. The structural strength loss after welding is small, suitable for on-site construction.
Long Service Life: The fatigue strength is 2-3 times that of ordinary structural steel, and it has excellent corrosion resistance. In harsh environments such as mines and oceans, the frequency of equipment maintenance can be reduced by more than 50%.
Stable and Controllable Quality: Adopting electric furnace/converter refining + continuous casting process, the chemical composition is precisely controlled. Each batch passes full-item mechanical performance tests such as tensile, impact and bending, with strong quality traceability.

Delivery Conditions and Specifications
Delivery Condition: Water-quenched + tempered (QT); surface can be shot-blasted as needed to improve cleanliness.
Regular Specifications: Thickness 4-120mm, width 1000-3000mm, length 12000mm; sizes beyond this range can be customized through negotiation.
Additional Requirements: Ultrasonic flaw detection (in line with ASTM A435 standard), special surface treatment, precise dimensional tolerance control, etc., can be provided as needed, which shall be specified in the contract.
Quality Certification: Products comply with EN 10025-6 standard and can provide authoritative certification reports such as ISO and CE.
