LR EH46 and LR EH50 are both Lloyd's Register (LR) shipbuilding steel grades, with the main difference being their strength level: EH50 offers higher minimum yield strength (500 MPa) and tensile strength (610-770 MPa) compared to EH46 (460 MPa yield, 570-720 MPa tensile), making EH50 a stronger, high-strength steel for more demanding structural applications in ships, while EH46 is a standard high-strength grade.

LR Grade EH50:

Elongation (min): 16%
In essence: EH50 is the stronger sibling, providing more resistance to deformation (higher yield) and fracture (higher tensile) than EH46, indicated by the higher number in its name (50 vs. 46).
