ASTM A517 Grade B is a quenched and tempered alloy steel plate intended for use in fusion welded boilers and other pressure vessels. A517 Grade B has a minimum yield strength of 100 ksi [690 MPa] and a minimum transverse Charpy V-notch lateral expansion of 0.015 inches (0.38 mm).

Charpy V-Notch Impact Properties: A transverse Charpy V-notch lateral expansion of 0.015 inches [0.38 mm] in individual specimens can be guaranteed to a minimum test temperature of -40°F [-40°C]. Please inquire for applications requiring lower test temperature guarantees for 0.015 inches [0.38 mm] minimum transverse lateral expansion and for other specified minimum impact property requirements.
