ASTM A203 Grade B low-temperature pressure vessel steel

ASTM A203 Grade B material is a nickel-alloy steel plate intended primarily for welded pressure vessels in low-temperature environments. As a steelmaking practice, the steel shall be killed and shall conform to fine grain size requirements. The heat treatment requirements for all plates are presented, and all plates under A203 Grade B shall be normalized as required.

Corrosion resistance: To a certain extent, A203 Grade B steel has some resistance to corrosion. In some low-temperature and corrosive environments, it can protect the pressure vessel from the erosion of corrosive media, extending the service life of the vessel and reducing maintenance costs.

Good formability: It can be formed into various shapes during the manufacturing process of the pressure vessel, such as cylindrical, spherical, etc., to meet different design requirements. This flexibility in formability helps in optimizing the design of the pressure vessel to adapt to different operating conditions and process requirements.
