A572 Grade 55 steel plate under ASTM A572 standard is a high-strength, low-alloy structural steel used in general construction and structural applications. ASTM A572 Grade 380 steel has a tensile strength of 485MPa (minimum) and a minimum yield strength of 380Mpa.
A572 55 high tensile steel plate can be bent or formed through cold working, and also has enhanced resistance to atmospheric corrosion, which is beneficial to increasing the service life of the steel structure. For A572 Grade 55 steel applications such as welded bridge structures, notch toughness is important and notch toughness requirements should be negotiated between the purchaser and manufacturer.
