A710 Low Alloy Steel Sheet
A710 is a low carbon alloy steel. It is age-hardened and has a high yield strength. It is available in two grades, A and B, which are further subdivided into 3 grades. A710 steel plate is made from this material. Although it has a high yield strength, it is said to be more costly than the other grades. A710 high-strength structural steel plates are available in thicknesses ranging from 12 mm to 60 mm and in lengths from 300 mm to 1,800 mm. Precipitation heat treatment and precipitation strengthening of these plates are required to achieve the desired mechanical properties. ASTM A710 low alloy high strength structural steel plates are widely used for north bucket rods, pens, power bucket components, shovels and cranes, etc.ASTM A710 High Tensil Low Alloy Steel Plates (HSLA) plates are widely used for north bucket rods, pens, power bucket components, shovels and cranes.

A710 Has Two Grades, Each With Three Levels, As Follows
Class A, Level 1, Rolled and Precipitation Heat Treatments. Class A, Level 1 specifies mandatory notch toughness requirements.
Class A, Grade 2 Normalizing and precipitation heat treatment.
Class A, Level 3 Hardening and precipitation heat treatment.
Class B, Grade 1 Minimum yield strengths for raw rolled steel Class B are 70 to 75 ksi [480 to 515 MPa], depending on thickness and condition.
Grade B, 2 Normalized.
Grade B, 3 Normalizing and precipitation heat treatment.
Precipitation strengthening can be produced by air cooling, normalizing and other heat treatments after hot rolling. These grades are not suitable for temperatures above 900°F [540°C].
